'Daredevil' Season 2 Cast News: Jon Bernthal Shares Details About The Punisher

One of the newest actors of the Marvel series "Daredevil" shared details about his upcoming character.

The second season of "Daredevil" is expected to bring in a new character named Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher. The character will be played by "The Walking Dead" star Jon Bernthal. He recently shared information about his character.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Bernthal recently spoke about his role as Frank Castle during an interview. He explained that he is working hard to bring to life an iconic character that means a lot to many people.

He said, "People in law enforcement and the military — this is a character who resonates really strongly [to them]. I know a lot of people really want us to get this right, and all I can say is the people around me are really wonderful, and I'm just trying to keep up with them."

He also commended all those involved in the series, explaining that he thoroughly enjoyed working with them.

He said, "The level of talent from the creators and the cast and the unbelievable crew, it's such an honor to be a part of. They set the bar so enormously high. It's the first time for me sort of coming onto something that's so wonderful. It's an honor and a responsibility, and the pressure is on. These guys are no nonsense and they're really, really wonderful at what they do."

Meanwhile, executive producer of the series, Steven DeKnight, also spoke out about The Punisher during an interview with Slash Film. He explained that while the character of The Punisher is known to be very violent, he does not expect it to be as violent as the portrayal of The Punisher in the film "Punisher: War Zone."

He explained that they will keep the series at PG-16, and has no intention of reaching the R rating.

"Daredevil" season 2 is expected to premiere on Netflix next year.
