'Dark Souls 3' Leak Confirms Collectors & Prestige Editions Releasing On April 12, 2016
There has been a leak regarding the release date of "Dark Souls 3." Two editions of the game have been leaked through an online listing by a retailer. These leaks have confirmed that the "Dark Souls 3" Collector and Prestige editions will come with a figurine and the leaked listings suggest the release date will be on April 12, 2016.
The leak has been through an United Arab Emirates retailer called Geekay Games who has listed a Collector's Edition and a more expensive Prestige Edition that is available on a pre-order basis.
The Collector's edition will be released with the game itself and a figurine of a 25-cm red knight. It also includes a collector's box, a hardcover art book of the game, a cloth game map, a copy of the soundtrack, iron-on patches, and a metal case.
The Prestige edition also has the same things but has a different figurine. In the Prestige edition, players will get a larger 40-cm figurine of the Lord of Cinder and the items will come in a differently coloured and designed collector's box.
The "Dark Souls" franchise has been developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. FromSoftware also released "Bloodborne" recently. The setting of the first "Dark Souls" games is the kingdom of Lordran in which players have to become a cursed character and go on a pilgrimage to discover the truth about the Undead. This is similar to the players assuming the role of Hunters in "Bloodborne" to discover the truth in their dreams.
Gamers are especially enthusiastic about the game's combat sequences and its dark mythology. "Dark Souls 2" was released on March 2014 and was an instant success, just like "Dark Souls."
Geekay Games is a Middle Eastern retailer, hence the prices are listed in AED units - the Collector's edition costs 499 AED that should be about $136 and the Prestige edition costs 1,799 AED which is about $490.
There has been no announcement from Bandai Namco but it is expected soon.
