Dave Chappelle Tour: Comedian Headlining Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival (VIDEO)

Dave Chappelle's tour, presented by Funny or Die and featuring Flight of the Conchords, is already making headlines. The elusive comedian hasn't been seen much since his abrupt departure from his hit Comedy Central show "The Chappelle Show" in 2005, but fans are already clamoring to purchase tickets to his first mainstream tour in nearly a decade.

Dave Chappelle's tour will be a month-long experience called the Oddball Comedy & Curiousity Festival. It starts Aug. 23 at the Austin360 Amphitheatre in Austin, Texas and end Sept. 22, at the Desert Sky Pavilion in Phoenix, Ariz., with 13 cities total to be visited. The show is being promoted by Live Nation and is presented by Funny or Die, the popular comedy website started by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy.

"It took the extraordinary talents of Dave Chappelle and Flight of the Conchords' Bret McKenzie and Jermaine Clement to create such an amazing night for comedy fans in such incredible summertime venues," Geof Wills of Live Nation said in a press release.

Chappelle, who is known for his racy and often racial humor, won't be the only high-profile comedian on the tour. Al Madrigal of "The Daily Show," Demetri Martin, who hosted his own show on Comedy Central, Brody Stevens, Chris D'Elia, Hannibal Buress, Jim Jefferies, John Mulaney and Kristen Schaal will be joining Chappelle.

The two-stage show will also feature "street performers, vendors, psychics, freaks, food vendors and other attractions," according to their statements. The tickets run from $20 to $95, depending on the seats, and go on sale June 21.

"We always love to push the comedy boundaries at Funny Or Die and this festival will do just that," Funny or Die representative Dick Glover said in a statement. "It's the perfect blend of comedy and crazy that will for sure resonate with comedy fans looking for a one-of-a-kind experience."

Though Dave Chappelle hasn't headline any comedy acts in quite some time, he did have several appearances at the Comedy Cellar in New York alongside Kevin Hart, Chris Rock and others. The impromptu move, along with his discussion of a possible tour in the fall with Rock, spurred rumors that the withdrawn funnyman could finally be returning to the stage.
