'Days of Our Lives' Cast News: Farrah Abraham to Play Stripper?

"Days of Our Lives" has reportedly made a huge casting decision in hiring "Teen Mom" Farrah Abraham to play the role of a stripper. Abraham was desperate to get on the show, sending in multiple audition tapes with the hope of landing a role on the immensely popular soap opera.

"Farrah initially wanted one of the lead roles, but clearly she's not a seasoned actress, so she auditioned for the role of a hooker named Destiny," a source told Radar Online. "Some of the cast and crew is peeved that she's even on the show because they don't think a popular daytime show that's been on the air for 50 years needs to use a ridiculous ploy like Farrah's name to get viewers."

The series has been one of the most successful soap operas on TV and produced such legends as Deidre Hall, James Macdonald Carey, and John Aniston. It has been on the air since 1965 and won several Emmys since its inception. However, in recent years, the show has had to battle against competition from other NBC soaps such as "Passions" and "Sunset Beach," both of which flopped and were taken off the air.

Abraham has never been coy about her desire to be in the entertainment industry; after starring on "Teen Mom," she wrote her memoir and produced a complementary CD. Then the young mother took a complete detour and starred in an intimate video with known actor James Deen. Although she initially denied her role in the film, she eventually admitted to her willing participation.

It's ironic that Abraham would be cast in the role of a stripper, given her history. Abraham was also recently linked to the website SugarDaddyForMe.com, a site where young women look for ways to earn money or gifts by accompanying older men on dates or to events.

"Days of Our Lives" has not confirmed or denied whether Abraham has been hired.
