'Days of Our Lives': Julie Faces Son's Devastating Death; Steve and Kayla Get Second Chance at Love

In the remaining episodes of "Days of Our Lives" for this week, Julie Olson Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) is going to face shattering news – the death of her son, David Banning (Gregg Marx). Meanwhile, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) will get their second shot at spending their lives together.

What Happens After Julie Learns About Her Son's Death?

On Thursday, Julie is expected to hear the worst news she can possibly imagine. She will learn that her son David, who she has not seen in many years, has already died. According to spoilers available on the web, David's death can mean two things for Julie. It can make her ditch the idea of leaving Salem and instead stay with her family as she needs moral support, or it can also convince her to speed up her plans of leaving town as a way to move on.

David is Julie's biological child who was given up for adoption. He was then raised by Scott (Erick Petersen) and Janet Banning (Joyce Easton). However, Julie was later on married to Scott after Janet died of a brain tumor. It then gave Julie another chance to be with her son.

David last appeared in 1983 when he decided to leave the fictional town of Salem after his name was falsely dragged to the murder of his estranged wife Renee DuMonde DiMera (Philece Sampler). The recent reference to him was in 2016 when Julie stated she is in constant communication with him though they have not seen each other in several years.

Family and Friends Witness Steve and Kayla Remarry

The Thursday episode of "Days of Our Lives" is not entirely going to be about grief. The story of Julie's loss will be balanced out with a happy and romantic tale as Steve and Kayla will renew their vows in front of family and friends.

It was not an easy road for Kayla and Steve. Their rocky relationship even involved an alleged death. However, after all the trials, the two will end up being with each other again. Their backstory makes their second chance at marriage even more important and blissful.

"Days of Our Lives" airs on weekdays at 1 p.m. EST on NBC.
