'Dead By Daylight' News: No Possibility for Nintendo Switch Release

First released back in 2016, "Dead By Daylight" has garnered the positive attention of the gaming community, and many know it as one of the best asymmetric survival horror video game. Developed Behaviour Interactive, fans have been clamoring to have a Nintendo Switch version of the game title. Unfortunately, it seems that Behaviour Interactive is focused elsewhere.

The announcement was made during this year's New York Comic Con, when "Dead By Daylight" lead designer Mathieu Cote spoke to DualShockers. According to Cote, the potential of bringing the game title over to the Nintendo Switch is not being considered as of the moment. Given the compact nature of the Switch, Cote cited the fact that the game title might not translate well, especially in terms of its controls and requirements. Although he did not specifically say that they do not plan to produce one ever, fans were still disappointed by the news.

As sad as it may be for Nintendo Switch fans, Cote did have some good news to share. Apparently, the team is currently focused on refining and optimizing the game for the upcoming Xbox One X. He did not give any specifics, but speculations indicate that they might be adding more features, especially since the Xbox One X has been hailed to be the most powerful console of the current generation. Moreover, fans are also expecting a performance upgrade for "Dead By Daylight."

Aside from the Xbox One X enhancements, fans also believe that Freddy Kruger will be added as the next horror icon, considering that they just recently added Leatherface from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre." Although no official announcement has been made, fans are expecting to have more details in the coming weeks.

"Dead By Daylight" is now available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One X, and Windows PC.
