Dead Cow Seen Hanging From Restaurant Ceiling in Adelaide, Australia
A restaurant in Australia currently has on display what must be one of the oddest conversation pieces hanging from their ceiling. Owners of a pizza restaurant in Adelaide, Australia have hanged a real cow, dead and stuffed, from the ceiling to impress diners.
The cow, called "Schvitzy," hangs upside-down from the ceiling of Etica Pizza in Adelaide. The ominous display consists of an entire cow, presumably stuffed by a taxidermist, hanging by her rear hooves with her head pointed down to diners bellow, as described by Fox News.
Federico and Melissa Pisanelli, owners of the abattoir-style pizza place, explained the unusual installation as their way of challenging the notions of diners when it comes to cows and perhaps "educate consumers on the origins of our food," in general, as quoted by Telegraph.

"It is designed to make consumers stop and think about the realities of the dairy industry," the couple added.
The strange fixture did spark something, if only in the form of consternation from patrons. Some of them have started a Change.org online petition asking the owners to kindly take down the "real dead mother cow's body hanging over tables by her feet where their customers eat."
The petition went on to describe the display as "unspeakable, atrocious, and shocking to see." The letter currently has 5,776 supporters as of this time, just 1,724 shy of the milestone of 7,500.
Etica, meanwhile, appreciated the sentiment. The restaurant claims to promote animal welfare, and that the décor was their way of starting "thoughtful conversation," as they described in their Facebook post on Sunday.
The cow herself, Schvitzy, was an 8-year-old dairy cow from a farm in South Australia, as the restaurant describes her. She was butchered at the farm, where her skin was left intact to be treated and displayed from the establishment's ceiling.
The restaurant currently has an average rating of 2.6 out of five stars on Facebook, with several of their negative reviews referring to their infamous taxidermy display.
