Deena Cortese Arrested, 'They Ought to Arrest Her for That Face' (VIDEO)

Deena Cortese, part of the "Jersey Shore" cast, was arrested Sunday afternoon on a disorderly conduct charge, prompting some to attack the content of the show.

Cortese was arrested by Seaside Heights Police officers, who stated that the reality star had been "a little intoxicated" and was seen slapping passing cars on the street. She was released on the same day of her arrest with a summons.

The announcement comes just over a week after it was announced that the "Jersey Shore" had begun filming for its sixth season. The announcement appears to have sparked users outrage, many who believe that the reality show is a bad influence on kids and bad excuse for entertainment. Ronald "Ronnie" Ortiz-Magro and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, along with others who have appeared on the show, have also made headlines for being arrested.

"Hey parents I hope you all will be so proud of your children when they learn how to act from these people, who clearly can't even handle themselves," one user, The Change, commented on the Huffington Post blog.

"MTV could go a long way in improving the growing demeaning culture in this Country," WheelJC added.

Other harshly ridiculed the "Jersey Shore" cast members themselves.

"Why do people watch these idiots? They have no talent, and do nothing to make society any better! Pathetic!" FloridaNorm asked.

"These people are lower than slugs and should be of no interest to anyone other the slugs," StebbyTubby wrote.

One user went as far as to poke fun at Cortese for the reason that she was arrested.

"They ought to arrest her for that face," DgdGreen wrote.

The next season of the show began filming June 1, with returning cast members Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, NicolePolizzi, Jenni "JWoww" Farley, Deena Cortese, Vinny Guadagnino, and Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio.
