Denver Broncos Left Tackle Garett Bolles Returns to Practice After Injury Scare

Denver Broncos offensive tackle Garett Bolles was in tears when they carted him off the field last Sunday after he suffered what seemed to be a serious injury to his left leg or ankle in the third quarter of their game against the Dallas Cowboys. In fact, he had a lot on his mind when he walked out of the stadium on crutches with his leg in a boot.

The rookie left tackle probably thought he's going to have to sit out the remainder of the season, but he got lucky and he was diagnosed with a lower-leg bruise. The injury wasn't serious. In fact, he's already back on the practice field on Thursday.

Bolles was grateful he didn't suffer a season-ending injury, and Broncos head coach Vance Joseph was glad to see him back on the field.

"Not surprised by it. Obviously the initial injury we thought was more serious, but he's treated and he's getting better fast. He's not there yet so we're not sure if he's going to play on Sunday, but he's getting better fast," Joseph said, via the Denver Post.

Well, that's a good sign. Bolles' injury is considered week-to-week, but nobody expected him to return so soon after he hurt his leg. In fact, it's quite possible that he may not even miss any games at all.

However, he's listed as questionable for their game against the Buffalo Bills.

"Your concern is with him missing the practice on Wednesday, that was our first- and second-down run game install[ation]. So your concern is always with mental preparation versus his physical [condition]. If he's ready to play physically, you're OK, but the mental reps he missed on Wednesday, that's a concern," Joseph stated, via the Broncos' official website.

In any case, the Broncos don't have to play him if he's not ready because they have Allen Barbre and Donald Stephenson on their roster.
