Denver Broncos NFL Trade Rumors: Broncos Interested in Bringing Back Vance Walker

The Denver Broncos have really been busy upgrading their defensive line this offseason. They have already signed Zach Kerr and Domata Peko, but it looks like they are thinking of adding more depth.

According to Denver7's Troy Renck, the Broncos have express interest in bringing defensive end Vance Walker back in the fold.

Walker was supposed to start at defensive end last season, but he missed the entire season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in practice. Some observers have even noted that the team would have been better on defense if they didn't lose Walker.

"You could make a strong argument that the Achilles heel of the 2016 Denver Broncos defense was the anterior cruciate ligament of defensive end Vance Walker. Whereas the 2015 defense was extraordinarily stingy allowing yards on the ground, the 2016 edition was far more generous to opposing running backs, dropping from third overall in run defense to 28th," Will Keys of Scout.com said in his report.

"It's fair to point to the season-ending injury of Walker, who tore his ACL in Training Camp, as the moment when they lost complete dominance on the ground," he continued.

Since the Broncos missed out on Dekoda Watson, they should really give Walker a look because he is probably better than some of the defensive ends currently on their roster. Actually, Broncos general manager John Elway also said recently that they would like to have him back.

Walker has already met with the Bears last week, but he left Chicago without a contract. That means the Broncos can still swoop in and sign him.

So, is he healthy? Well, check out this video he posted on Instagram.

His footwork looks fine and he should be ready to play next season. He can be a solid rotational player for the Broncos if he decides to join them.
