Denver Broncos Will Continue to Start Brock Osweiler at Quarterback Against the New England Patriots This Sunday

It appears that the Denver Broncos are giving quarterback Brock Osweiler another chance to prove himself.

Broncos head coach Vance Joseph has announced that Osweiler will remain the team's starting quarterback when they take on the New England Patriots this Sunday.

"I thought Brock had an excellent week of preparation," Joseph said on Monday, via the Broncos' official website. "It felt good to our team, it was a confident week, the energy was there, it was detailed. ... Brock's experience Brock's personality really helped our team bounce back and gave us confidence going into this week. I think Brock's earned it from that standpoint," he continued.

Osweiler started his first game of the season last Sunday when the Broncos took on the Philadelphia Eagles, and he managed to complete 19 of his 38 passes for 208 yards with one touchdown. The sixth-year pro also had two interceptions in their 51–23 loss, but Joseph thinks he deserves another chance.

"He had a couple ill-advised throws. Brock had some good things, the red-zone audible for the (Demaryius Thomas) touchdown, that was one of Brock's audibles. I think Brock deserves one more week to prove he's the guy for us," Joseph stated.

Well, they may not have a choice anyway because Paxton Lynch is still recovering from a shoulder injury and he's still not physically ready to return to the field. The good news is that he has started practicing so he should be available soon. Who knows, he may be in line to start at quarterback at some point later this season.

In the meantime, it seems that the Broncos may have seen enough from Trevor Siemian to know that he's just not the right man for the job. Siemian started the first seven games of the season, but he was pulled out of the first unit last week.
