Denver Nuggets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers: Preview

The top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers will be going up against the Denver Nuggets for the second time this season. The two teams will be meeting again on Monday night, March 21st, at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

The last time the Cavaliers and the Nuggets played against each other was on December 29th, with the latter team hosting. Guard JR Smith was the next top scorer with 11 points, but added in two rebounds, three assists, and two steals, and shot 4 out of 11 from the field, through 25 minutes of playing time. The Cavaliers are gunning for their ninth 50-win season in franchise history going against the Nuggets.

Currently, they are holding a 49-20 record, coming off a 122-101 loss to the Miami Heat on Saturday night. According to big man Kevin Love, the main objective is to get back on track once they get back to playing at home.

"There's a number of reasons why Saturday's loss went down the way it did. But more than anything, we just want to get back home," Love said in an NBA.com report after the game.

The Denver Nuggets, on the other hand, were previously on a four-game winning streak, only to be snapped and be replaced by a three-game losing slump. Coming into the game, however, they are fresh off a 101-93 victory against the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday.

In the said game, second-stringer D.J. Augustin contributed the most numbers, scoring 24 points and three assists, on 8 out of 11 field goal shooting, through 22 minutes of playing time.

The Nuggets are currently holding a record of 29-41, and are situated at the number ten spot at the Western Conference standings.
