Denver are desperately trying to improve their record as they are below the .500 mark at the moment as the season heads to the midway point, while the Grizzlies are looking to add to their win tally and edge closer to the top of their own division.

Memphis are behind the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks in the Southwest Division but are trying to hold off teams under them like the Houston Rockets as the battle in the group is tight and very challenging.
Meanwhile, the Nuggets are also locked in a tight battle in the middle of the Northwest Division. The Oklahoma City Thunder are runaway leaders but it is a close match-up between teams underneath them where the Nuggets are right in the middle.
This is the second meeting between the two teams and they are scheduled to battle two more times down the road, with the Grizzlies already taking the first game.
At the FedExForum, the battle was tight in the first quarter, with the Nuggets scoring 30 points against Memphis' 29. However, the second quarter was all Memphis as they held the Nuggets to only seven points to take the double digit lead at halftime.
Denver bounced back in the third quarter by outscoring the Grizzlies by 11 points to cut the lead down to one point, but they could not stop Memphis from winning the fourth quarter and getting the 91-84 victory.
In the win, Zach Randolph scored 24 points and grabbed six rebounds. For the Nuggets, Danilo Gallinari put up 29 points and had eight rebounds.
