'Descendants of the Sun' 2 Spoilers, Release and Cast News: Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo Take Part in DVD Commentary
"Descendants of the Sun" cast reunite to produce a DVD commentary that fans will love. Seven members of the cast got together to record a director's version DVD of the show.

Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo took part in the commentary together with Jin Goo and Kim I Won. Writers of the show Kim Eun Sook and Kim Won Suk also participated in the recording as well as director Lee Eung Bok.

The last time that the cast and crew of the popular show was six months ago at the show's press conference in February.
KBS just recently shared a photo of the cast and crew who are in a recording booth working on the commentary.
Aside from the commentary, the DVD cut will also include unreleased footages of the show and additional scenes from the original TV series itself. Furthermore, the commentary will include the insights from the cast and crew about the show.
"Descendanrs of the Sun" was a major hit in South Korea after it was released and was really popular in the whole of Asia and generated fans across the globe. KBS aired additional special episodes from April 20 to April 22 due to the show's popularity. The special episodes contained highlights and the best scenes from the series. It also included the production process and behind-the-scene footages. Futhermore, commentaries and a final epilogue from cast members were also part of the special episodes.
The series is about a romance set in a fictional country "Uruk" and is against military operations. It included a 16-episode romance with the main stars, Song Joong-Ki, who plays the character Captain Yoo Shi-Jin and Song Hye-Kyo, who portrays a medical doctor Kang Mo-Yeon. The series has been the most watched this year.
The director's cut DVD is set to be released in November 2016 and will include all the never before seen footages of the show. It also has the OST music videos from the TV series and most of the cast and crew took part in recording the commentary.
A Possible Second Season
It has been reported that the producers behind the hit drama series which is Barunson Entertainment have recently discussed a second season of the show.

"Descendants of the Sun" second season may be possible and may happen anytime but for now, fans can look forward for the director's cut DVD of the series.
