"Descendants of the Sun" co-stars Song Joong Ki and Jin Goo's ultimate bromance won them an award in the recently concluded 12th Annual Soompi Awards.
The best friends forever won the Best Bromance award beating out nine other nominees in the category. Song Joong Ki and Jin Goo got majority of the votes from fans from 139 countries who took part in the voting process.
The ultimate "Descendants of the Sun" bros were up against Park Bo Gum and Kwak Dong Yeon, Lee Min Ho and Con friends, Lee Joon Gi and Nam Joo Hyuk as well as Hongbin and Lee Hyun Woo.
Also nominated in the category were the "Reply 1988" crew, Eric Mun and Sound Crew, Seo In Guk and Ma Dong Seok, Jo Jung Suk and Go Kyung Pyo, and Lee Jong Suk and Lee Tae Hwan.
It is no surprise that the "Descendants of the Sun" got the Best Bromance award this year at the Soompi Awards as fans quickly took notice of their adorable friendship both on and off camera.
Song Joong Ki played the role of Alpha Team leader Captain Yoo Si-jin also known as the Big Boss in the romantic television series, which went on to be one of the biggest Korean romance drama from last year.
Jin Goo played the loyal soldier Sergeant First Class Seo Dae-young aka Wolf. Their characters worked closely together in the elite special force and their on-screen chemistry early in the series immediately won fans over.
"Descendants of the Sun" fans could only hope that Song Joong Ki and Jin Goo will work together again in either an entirely new project or a follow-up to the hit series, which is yet to be confirmed.
For now, however, their bromance just got to a whole new level with a Soompi award as a testament to their friendship.
