'Descendants of the Sun' Season 2 Rumors: Park Bo Gum to Join Cast, Causes Rift Between Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki?

Despite cancellation rumors, the second season of hit South Korean drama series "Descendants of the Sun" will reportedly push through. However, its production is reportedly facing delays due to "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" actor Park Bo Gum.

According to reports, Bo Gum will join the cast of the upcoming season and will work with his sunbae Song Joong Ki. Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo were the lead stars of the original series. Rumors about Bo Gum joining the cast of "Descendants of the Sun 2" began to surface when the actor was spotted with Joong Ki at a fan meet in Thailand last Feb. 11.

During the event, both actors were asked about their dream roles in a drama or movie. Joong Ki reportedly answered that he wanted to portray Bo Gum's character in "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds," while Bo Gum said he wanted to portray Joong Ki's character in "A Werewolf Boy." Because of their answers, fans started to speculate that the two might actually work together in a new drama, which could be the "Descendants of the Sun" sequel.

Joong Ki and Bo Gum have been plagued with dating rumors recently, and speculation about their relationship even intensified when a photo of them celebrating Valentine's Day together surfaced. Rumor has it that this has caused a rift between Joong Ki and his co-star and rumored girlfriend Hye Kyo, causing delays in the sequel's production.

Joong Ki and Bo Gum have worked together on various projects and are known for being very close to each other. Before dating rumors about them came out, Joong Ki was caught in dating rumors with Hye Kyo.

Meanwhile, "Descendants of the Sun" season 2 will reportedly focus on the lives of Kang Mo Yeon (Hye Kyo) and Yoo Si Jin (Joong Ki) after their marriage. As of this writing, however, the creators of the series have yet to confirmed a sequel so fans should take everything with a grain of salt.
