'Destiny 2' DLC News: Bungie Says Leaked 'Curse of Osiris' DLC is Real
DLC takes players to Mercury
"Destiny 2" developer, Bungie, has already confirmed that the previously leaked "Curse of Osiris" title will be the first post-launch downloadable content for the said game.
There have already been several occasions when the "Curse of Osiris" DLC was reported. However, this time, Bungie finally recognized its existence and confirmed that it will soon be added as an expansion title for "Destiny 2."
Last week, a product page for "Destiny 2 – Expansion I: Curse of Osiris" was created on the official Xbox online store. The page was up even before Bungie could announce the expansion game, which led reports and gamers to assume that Xbox had accidentally leaked the DLC.
However, shortly after the DLC made headlines, Bungie's Eric Osborne immediately put all the speculations to rest by confirming via Twitter that "Curse of Osiris is not a leak. It's real!"
Meanwhile, despite Osborne's confirmation, the "Curse of Osiris" is still not listed on the Sony PlayStation store.
A few weeks before the official release of "Destiny 2," an anonymous source reached out to Kotaku and shared several important details on the post-launch DLC of the game. It was the first time the title "Curse of Osiris" ever surfaced on the internet.
Given the fact that "Destiny 2" was still waiting to be released at the time the first leak came out, Bungie was understandably quiet on the issue.
The expansion's official listing on the Xbox Store also confirmed the details shared by Kotaku's source – that the DLC will take place on Mercury. The game's description promised that the DLC will bring "all-new story missions and adventures set in a new destination, Mercury."
Meanwhile, apart from traveling through the galaxy, the DLC's description also mentioned that the "Curse of Osiris" will include some time-traveling experience as the Guardian helps reconcile the team of the "legendary Warlock and his greatest student - Ikora Rey."
"Curse of Osiris" is also set to introduce a location within Mercury called the Infinite Forest. Like most DLCs, the "Curse of Osiris" will also bring new themed weapons, armor, gears, cooperative gameplays, and competitive multiplayer arenas.
The Xbox store page did not mention a release date or its timeframe. However, players can recall that Kotaku's source said "Curse of Osiris" will be released in December. Meanwhile, Osborne also told a follower that Bungie is "open" to launching the expansion title within 2017.
