'Destiny 2' Gameplay News: Bungie Servers Go Offline; See When and What Updates Are Coming After

"Destiny 2" servers are going momentarily offline on Tuesday, Oct. 3, to prepare the game for some updates.

Players of the first "Destiny" game know that it is Bungie's tradition to regularly hold a scheduled maintenance for several reasons, such as the installation of updates and fixes.

The developer explained: "Occasionally, Destiny may be brought offline for scheduled or emergency maintenance, or to update the game to address gameplay issues or add in-game features. Please see below for information on upcoming Server Maintenance or Destiny Updates."

In an earlier released advisory, Bungie informed the players of "Destiny 2" that they will not be able to access it as the game's "services will be taken offline ... for scheduled maintenance."

Bungie added: "Following this maintenance, Destiny 2 players will be prompted to accept Update 1.0.3.1."

According to Bungie, "Destiny 2" servers will start to go offline on Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. EDT. By this time, players can no longer access the game.

At 12 p.m. EDT of the same day, Bungie will force all "Destiny 2" players currently playing to temporarily sign out for the maintenance. Then, if no unexpected troubles arise, the scheduled maintenance should be over by 3 p.m. EDT, and players should be able to log in shortly after installing update 1.0.3.1.

Meanwhile, the Hotfix 1.0.3.1 is expected to address several reported bugs on "Destiny 2."

According to reports, one of the issues to be addressed by the upcoming update is the bug that forces players to lose access to the Veteran's Transmat Effect after they have erased some characters.

Bungie will also fix an issue that prevents players to properly advance when doing the "His Highness's Seal" Exotic Quest Step. There has also been a reported bug that limits the Trials of the Nine and raid rewards at just 10 Power.

Quest Step will be fixed to only require 10 Seals before incrementing by 1. Bungie has also addressed an issue reported by some players who were not able to see their raid milestones after the regular weekly resets – Bungie clarified that no raid rewards were lost due to this bug.

The developers have also fixed a bug that allows players to "enter a state" even if they keep on getting killed or are unable to resurrect. This happens if encounter complete and failure events happen at the same time.
