'Destiny 2: Iron Banner' Prestige Raid to Start Next Week

"Destiny 2" recently had the "Faction Rallies" event, and this week, they're quickly following up with another. This time, it will be the Iron Lords in charge of the next contest, as well as the rewards.

The Faction Rallies recently held by the Tower residents of "Destiny 2" has just come to a conclusion, but Bungie looks to keep their momentum going with another event.

With the previous competition, it was Arach Jalaal's Dead Orbit faction that nabbed the top prize, according to Bungie's news update. With the grey and black faction winning over the most number of Guardians, it's still not too late for the other groups to make their comeback next time. For this week, another group holds court over the last city.

The Iron Lords are hosting this next event, a gameplay addon that "Destiny 1" veterans should be familiar with. There are changes with this Control map, though, and old players should take note.

Unlike before, the playing field will be more leveled between newcomers and raid veterans this time. "Your fighting abilities, not your power levels, will decide the outcome," Bungie said, as quoted by Polygon.

It looks like Bungie is bringing over the standard Crucible player-versus-player mechanics that value skill over raw stats to this year's Iron Banner event. The format has seen a major change, too, and this time around, the fights will be between two teams of four players.

Bungie is also doing away with the old bounties and ranks with the upcoming Iron Banner event. The new system is now streamlined, with Iron Banner Engram now serving as rewards for a player's achievements throughout the contest.

Among the rewards of this event, the most coveted would have to be the Iron Banner prestige armor, shown in the video below. The event starts on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 5 a.m. EDT and ends on Oct. 17, at 5 a.m. EDT as well.
