'Destiny 2' PC Patch Details: Framerate Hiccups Should Be Gone Now
"Destiny 2's" patch notes for their latest update was short but sweet, especially for players who have been experiencing hitches while playing the game. Update 1.0.6.2 is out now, and it promises to cure a particularly annoying habit that the PC version of the game picked up in the previous 1.0.6.1 patch.
This hotfix was out as early as Monday, Nov. 6, and is targeted only at the PC version of "Destiny 2." The patch notes released by Bungie only has a single item to it, as well.
"Fixed an issue, introduced with 1.0.6.1 patch, causing periodic hitches during gameplay for some players," was the single item that the "Destiny" development team wrote for their Update 1.0.6.2, but that's everything that PC players want to hear.
This just means that the periodic hitches that made "Destiny 2" unbearable after the 1.0.6.1 patch should be a thing of the past now. That earlier update was supposed to fix degraded performance for the PC version of the game, along with some adjustments to the Clan rosters.
Along the way, the first patch introduced stuttering, hitches and hiccups for some PC players, according to WCCF Tech. Bungie immediately acknowledged the issue, promising a fix as soon as they can via Twitter.
"We are actively investigating reports of Destiny 2 PC frame rate stuttering after accepting Hotfix 1.0.6.1," Bungie wrote on their Bungie Help Twitter handle on Thursday, Nov. 2.
These two updates were meant to clean up after the issues introduced in the bigger 1.0.6 update that Bungie released for all versions of "Destiny 2." The update, which went live on Friday, Nov. 3, after their scheduled maintenance, introduced a few fixes and balance changes to PC and platform versions of the game, according to Gamespot.
The update adjusted the number of Faction Tokens given out for Faction Rallies, toning down the rewards to be more in line with their progression goals for players of the game.
