'Destiny 2' Tips and Tricks: How to Access Nightfall Strikes Events

"Destiny 2" features tougher, but more rewarding, versions of its game modes – Nightfall Strikes being one of them. Accessing this special game mode is already a task, but accomplishing it may also prove to be a serious challenge.

Unlocking Nightfall Strikes Mode

Not anyone can simply click a button or open a menu to access Nightfall Strikes. Opening this game mode is already a tough goal.

Obviously, only players who have unlocked the Strikes mode can get the ticket to Nightfall Strikes. On top of that, accessing the Strikes mode is also a different task. To do this, players will need to complete all the missions in Fury mode. After finishing Fury, players should approach Zavala. This action then unlocks the Strikes option.

After winning two Strikes, players can go back to talk to Zavala to get their reward, which is the Nightfall milestone. However, players must also reach a Power level of at least 230 before they are able to unlock Nightfall Strikes.

Nightfall Strikes Events in September

Players who want to experience this game mode need to perform these tasks as soon as they can because Bungie has lined up sets of Nightfall Strikes events for the entire month of September.

The first event called "The Arms Dealer" started Sept. 5 and concluded last Sept. 12. Currently, players can join the "The Invented Spire" Nightfall Strike until Sept. 19. Then, on Sept. 19, "Exodus Crush" begins and will be replaced by the Nightfall Strikes event "The Pyramidion" on Sept. 26.

What are the Modifiers?

Playing Nightfall Strikes is complicated and very intricate. To determine a player's success in these limited-time events, "Destiny 2" introduced modifiers that vary from one game to another.

For the on-going Nightfall Strikes event, the modifier is Prism – which is also the one used in "The Arms Dealer."

According to reports, the Prism modifier greatly related to the weapons that a player's Fireteam is using. With Prism, players are advised to always pay attention to notifications on what element is shrouding a character during the game.

For example, if the notification says a player is covered in Solar energy, this means the player will get the best out of using a weapon that uses the same element. Doing so will inflict more damage to opponents, thus killing them faster.

Hard Work Pays Off

Though getting into and playing Nightfall Strikes can be tedious, complicated and very challenging, they do pay off well.

The loot given to players who complete Nightfall Strikes events are "some of the most highly rated rewards" in "Destiny 2," according to Eurogamer. Players have the chance to acquire the Luminous Engram that typically contains Exotic or Legendary loot.

"Destiny 2" is out now on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
