'Destiny' DLC News, Update: Game to Still Get Support After Sequel's Release

Players will not have to worry about "Destiny" being abandoned after the sequel releases later this year. It turns out that Bungie is still committed to supporting the game.

With the "Age of Triumph" event coming to "Destiny" (the content had a final feel to it), many thought it will be the last update the game will ever get. It looks like this will not be the case after all.

The studio's community manager, David Dague, assured via Games Radar that "Destiny" is still getting some love "for the foreseeable future," adding that it is still "a game that will be there for players."

"So while we do have a sense of finality and closure as the theme of this [Age of Triumph] event, we are by no means turning the lights off on Destiny 1," he went on to say.

Elaborating more on how Bungie plans to continue support for "Destiny," he said that the game will always be there for them to experience again.

"If players decide, as they move on to new worlds, to experience new adventures and be told new stories in those spaces, if they decide they want to revisit the things that they did in Destiny 1, the game will still be there for them. And, for someone who might join the adventure in progress, and they might want to go back to the beginning and discover how it all started? Those origin stories will be waiting for them," he went on to say.

As for "Age of Triumph," it will be rolled out on March 28. It will serve as the culmination of the whole "Destiny" experience while still allowing players to relive their favorite moments in the three years of adventure they had in the game.

This "Destiny" update will refresh the raids released for the games in the past so that they will offer new rewards and new reasons for players to revisit them.
