'Destiny' Freebies 2016 News: Strange Coins and Motes from Bungie
As the year starts, Bungie is one of the game developing companies that will be spreading the love for 2016, and it turns out, the freebies aren't good enough for some players.
On Friday, Bungie took to Twitter and asked fans to get into their mail. "Check your email. Check your Postmaster," the team said. To give fans some goodies to start the year with, the "Destiny" gamers will get 15 Strange Coins and 15 Motes of Light.
According to Cheat CC, players can use the coins to purchase items from the merchant, Xur. Buying items started on Friday. Motes, on the other hand, are used for increasing an equipment's experience, providing further offensive powers to a tool or weapon. The freebies can be obtained when a player visits the Postmaster.
While the gifts will be available until Feb. 17 at the Tower, players are encouraged to check in with the Postmaster before Sunday. Those who claim the rewards before Jan. 10 will be given the Emblem on Jan. 12, which is another gift that Bungie is giving away to the many fans who have been faithful to the game.
While a lot of gamers have thanked Bungie for its generosity, a huge number of fans seemed displeased with the gifts. Some said they don't need any more coins and emblems since they have collected more than enough to last the year.
Other players commented on a new emblem that looked like nobody put enough time and effort to work on, while some said this year's gifts are just the "most common" items and shouldn't even be considered as something to celebrate the new year with.
A lot of the comments on Bungie's freebies focused on slamming the common rewards, but some players who are seriously attached to the game noted that they don't need the coins, motes, and emblems; instead, they said what "Destiny" needs is "more content" to keep the interest of players going.
