'Destiny' Gets Much Needed 'Hotfix'

According to a report in Polygon, "Destiny" players have been complaining about two major issues with the game recently – one has to do with the reward drops during the weekly Nightfall strikes, which does not seem to offer that much incentive to do Nightfall strikes at all because the rewards aren't much. The other has to do with the bug in the Hunter's Shadowshot super, something that the game's Crucible players have been harping about. The report more notably mentioned that Bungie has recently released what it calls a "hotfix" for these two issues.

The patch that was recently released, according to Tech Times, aims to provide better incentives for players to undertake Nightfall strikes, as well as provide a temporary fix to the Shadowshots of the Hunter, by "taking out the extra shots from Quiver to avoid unlimited Shadowshots."

According to Bungie, "This is a temporary fix, and the node will be restored in a fixed state in an upcoming patch." Players will have to content themselves with the temporary fix in the meantime.

As for Nightfall strikes, what the patch did was to provide better rewards. Bungie increased the base level of rewards by 10 Attack/Defence. It also increased the chances of getting legendary rewards from 50 percent to what is now 60 percent. With regards to specific rewards such as Three of Coins and Strange Coin, the patch also raised the number that players will get.

Among the legendary rewards for the strikes, Ghosts are now included at the loot table. Antiquated roons have been taken out. The Legendary Engram was also taken out, meaning players won't be able to get this after killing the boss during the Nightfall strikes.

What is notable in this patch however is that it is supposed to prepare the way for Hard Mode that will come with King's Fall. This mode will be available on October 23 at 10 a.m. and it comes much earlier than it was announced.
