'Destiny' King's Fall Raid: First Challenge Mode, The Warpriest, Rolls Out

Bungie has quietly rolled out the first challenge for "Destiny" King's Fall Raid, The Warpriest. Devoted players found this out while they were waiting for Tuesday's reset.

The Warpriest challenge features a boss who fires faster and spawns harder enemies more quickly. To kill him, teams have to remember that a different player should be holding the aura every time. That is to say no player should hold the aura twice in a row.

The first King's Fall Raid challenge is divided into two parts, according to YouTuber DattoDoesDestiny (video below). The first part is "Prove Your Worth," where the plate in the middle of the arena needs to be recharged with Deathzinger's Power, and the second part is where players will need to defeat the boss, The Warpriest, himself.

A team of six players will need to separate into two groups of three for the entire challenge. Recommended weapons include any primary weapon, solar weapons, and a sniper rifle, which will be most useful when dealing damage to the boss.

Players had mixed reviews for the challenge, with some enjoying it while others were disappointed with the seemingly easy challenge. Still the challenge is hard to pass up because of the loot involved.

"Destiny" players who have successfully completed the challenge were rewarded with the following items, according to Forbes:

  • A 310 and 320 light weapon
  • An exclusive 320 light artifact
  • "Worm God's Servant" emblem
  • One of the fabled missing Calcified Fragments.

Bungie's Lead Raid Designer Gavin Irby told fans last week that the King's Fall Raid would feature Challenge Modes, of which The Warpriest is the first in a series. And it looks like "Destiny" King's Fall Raid players can expect a new challenge after every reset on Tuesdays. The upcoming boss challenges will be the Golgoroth challenge next Tuesday to be followed by the Oryx challenge, according to GameRant.
