'Destiny' Spring Update Arriving April 12, Bungie Sharing More Details via Official Twitch Channel

Something exciting is happening to the sci-fi shooter "Destiny" in 2016. The game is set to receive its next biggest update since the game released a major expansion, "The Taken King" last year. According to a report in Digital Trends, the update may be developer Bungie's way of appeasing fans after they announced that a much-awaited sequel of the game is not happening until 2017. Aside from the April Update, which is arriving on April 12, another major update is in store for players within 2016.

The April Update comes free for gamers who purchased the previous expansion pack, "The Taken King." According to the game's official blog, the April Update will be bringing new and interesting content such as new Player-versus-Environment challenges, a new quest that features the Blighted Chalice Strike, new and updated gear, updates to the Sandbox and Crucible, and increased Light Level cap and rewards to ensure that players keep coming back to play the game.

The free update is however not introducing a new Raid, something that is always much-anticipated in the game. The other update that is coming sometime within 2016 is likely to be a paid expansion, according to Digital Trends. The report cited that both Bungie and Activision describe the expansion a "large" one, which the report speculates may be as big as "The Taken King."
