'Destiny: The Taken King' Update: Challenge Modes Details, Expected to be 'Harder'

First-person shooter game "Destiny: The Taken King" is going to bring something new for its players and it is said to be an even 'harder' mode. Bungie has given out information through its weekly update on its website regarding on what's to come with the game's King's Fall raid.

Lead Raid Designer Gavin Irby took over the weekly update again after previously talking about the Hard Mode. This time, he has divulged few details on the upcoming Challenge Modes, claiming that the video game developer will introduce in "Destiny: The Taken King" within the next few weeks.

Irby said that in challenge mode, a King's Fall boss will issue players a weekly challenge. As he has written, "Early in December, one of the King's Fall bosses will offer their challenge each week. You'll see which boss when you select the Raid in the Director. It will display next to a skull, just like one of our Nightfall modifiers."

Irby did not detail the necessary ways and means that will be used in the Raids but he did mention that the mode will come in both normal and hard mode. He also hinted that the challenge will be refreshed every week, just like the other challenges of the game. This means that only one boss challenge will be available per week. Game Dynamo noted that rewards will depend on the difficulty. The tougher the level, the better the reward will be.

The Lead Raid Designer also stated his apologies in advance to those that run the single-pool strat for Golgoroth. Screen Rant reported that Irby utilized Golgoroth as an example of how challenges will urge players to expand their raid strategies. Bungie may have created some of the challenges to precisely address corners that raiders are cutting. This may basically force team to play each encounter with specific guidelines that will offer only little manipulation of core raid mechanics.

No specific date has been announced yet for the new Challenge Modes but basing on the early December hint, the earliest it could arrive is on Dec. 8 since the game refreshes its challenges every Tuesday.
