'Destiny's' February Update: Bungie Promises More Content Coming in Addition to Crimson Days Event

Bungie has assured the "Destiny" community that more content will be coming their way other than the previously announced Crimson Days.

Crimson Days is Bungie's first-ever Valentine's Day event for "Destiny." The developer said the upcoming event will be on a scale "close" to 2015's Festival of the Lost. Crimson Days is scheduled to start on Feb. 9.

Now Bungie has revealed that it will be releasing more content next month. In Bungie's Weekly Update, Community Manager David "DeeJ" Dague talked briefly about what else is coming with "Destiny's" February update.

"The February Update includes more than Crimson Days," Dague said. "There are more bullets we'll be firing to impact the quality of your Guardian lifestyle."

Unfortunately, Dague has not hinted at what these "bullets" could be. Fans will have to wait until next week's preview to find out what exactly these new content will be.

Bungie has been facing some challenges lately, according to reports. Gamerant notes that Bungie's lack of transparency is making fans doubtful of what's coming next for the game. Unlike other studios, Bungie has not updated the community with what it plans to deliver to "Destiny" this year. Compare this with Electronic Arts' roadmap of content from this month through early 2017.

Because of this seemingly lack of content lined up for future release, the publication says Bungie is projecting the message that it isn't sure of itself. The same view was previously taken by a report from Kotaku. Kotaku's report indicated that the reason Bungie was unsure and its plans "constantly in flux" was because it doesn't have a roadmap for the franchise's future, according to the publication's Bungie-connected sources. In addition, it doesn't help that Bungie has set up the community to expect a rigid release schedule in terms of fresh content.

It remains to be seen if the February update will satisfy the "Destiny" community's demand for fresh content. When or whether Bungie will reveal its content plan or roadmap for the title at all is also up in the air.
