Detroit Lions Willing to Bring Back Anquan Boldin

Veteran wide receiver Anquan Boldin has been testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason, but he's still looking for a home for next season. Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh would love to have him on their roster and a reunion would please a lot of fans. However, Boldin might still end up re-signing with the Detroit Lions.

During an interview at the annual league meeting in Phoenix, Arizona last week, Lions general manager Bob Quinn revealed that they were open to re-signing Boldin due to his solid play last season.

"I've put him in the category of guys that we've talked to here in the last couple of months. But I think Anquan, he did a great job for us this year. Really stepped in and provided a real reliable target for Matthew (Stafford) and had, what, he had 60-plus catches this year?" Quinn said, according to MLive.com.

"He's definitely an option. We haven't made any decision on that one way or the other, but he's still out there," he continued.

Lions head coach Jim Caldwell also spoke with reporters at the league meeting last week and he said he's not sure if they would go after Boldin. However, he added that they would "never say never."

Boldin is also interested in returning to Detroit next season, but he wants to take his family into consideration before he comes up with a decision.

Boldin reportedly wants to play for a club in southern Florida where his family resides and that will certainly influence his decision making. However, his options are limited there since the Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Jacksonville Jaguars are not looking for a wide receiver. Re-signing with the Lions or returning to Baltimore may be the interesting options right now.

The Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Carolina Panthers and Tennessee Titans could also use someone like him on their roster.
