Both of these teams have gotten off to good starts to the new 2017 season, and enter Week 4 on 2-1. Both will have high expectations to win this one today to claim their third win of the season so far, but only one of these teams can leave the U.S. Bank Stadium with the win today.
These two teams have played each other 111 times in the regular season in their all time series, and the Vikings are well on top, claiming 71 wins compared to the Lions 38 (there have been two ties).

However, in more recent history, the Lions have been on top, and last season Detroit swept the season series, which was their second sweep over the Vikings in just the past three seasons.
The Lions will want to get things back on track this week following their first loss of the season against the Atlanta Falcons last week. They just couldn't get into the end zone last week, and know they have to be more effective in offense if they are to get the points on the board and claim the win today.
The Vikings have a good pass rush, so the Lions will have to protect Matthew Stafford well and make sure he has enough time to get the ball away. Wide receiver Golden Tate managed to claim 16 catches in just two games against the Vikings last season, so he will be hoping to have as much success today.
Earlier this week, the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears got Week 4 off to a start on NFL Thursday Night Football. However, the contest was not as competitive as most neutrals would have liked, and the Packers eased to a comfortable 35-14 victory.
Packers' quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, threw for four touchdown passes, with two finding Jordy Nelson for touchdowns.
The result moved the Packer to 3-1, which leaves them in a solid position as they look to consolidate their good start to the season over the coming month and ensure they get one hand on a postseason spot as soon as possible.
However, for the Bears the season is quickly slipping away from them, and their third loss of the season sees them drop to 1-3, and it now seems a long way back for them to even get to a level record.
The Packers were in front right from the start in Thursday's game, and quickly jumped out to a 14-0 lead following Aaron Rodgers leading them to an opening drive touchdown.
There was a 45 minute delay in the game due to a lightning strike, however, not even that could shock the Bears into life, and they limply gave up the game to a far superior side.
One major area that the Bears must fix asap is Mike Glennon; things are simply not working. Glennon gave up four turnovers on the night, with two interceptions and two lost fumbles. That simply isn't good enough and there's little hope for the Bears to get a result when they give the ball away so consistently for free. Those four turnovers directly led to 21 of the Packers' points, which shows how costly each was. Now through the opening four games of the season, Glennon has given up eight turnovers; something must be done.
