Detroit Pistons NBA Trade Rumors: Andre Drummond, Reggie Jackson to be Traded?

Many will assume that Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond is practically untouchable in trade talks because of what he brings to the team, but it seems that isn't true after all.

ESPN's Zach Lowe has reported that the Pistons have actually put Drummond and starting point guard Reggie Jackson on the trading block, and they are both available for the right price. However, the team has reportedly "come away disappointed with the potential return" for the two players.

Jackson's name has been mentioned in trade rumors before in the past few months, but Drummond's inclusion in the trade market has taken many by surprise. Lowe admitted that a trade involving Drummond was highly unlikely, however, he believes that Jackson might be traded before the trade deadline since the guard seems to have a lot of suitors.

"Any Drummond deal at the deadline is an extreme long shot, but Jackson remains in play for Minnesota, Orlando, New Orleans, or some mystery destination. Even if Detroit keeps him, missing the playoffs would put dramatic changes on the table this summer," he said, in the same ESPN report.

Drummond is one of the best rebounders in the league and he's also a good shot blocker. Teams would love to have a player of his caliber. The problem is, his development has been slow and he is a liability on the offensive end. Well, outside of his offensive rebounding, of course. His defensive shortcomings are also hard to ignore and Lowe also talked about his lapses on that end in his piece about the Pistons.

The team thought Drummond would become a force on both ends of the floor by now since this was already his fifth season in the league, but he has failed to develop his game.

On the other hand, Jackson has struggled after coming back from a knee injury and he has been inconsistent all season long. That would explain why the Pistons were looking to trade him.

Will Drummond and Jackson stay with the Pistons beyond the trade deadline?
