Though the Red Wings have not scored a lot of goals this season – as they have one of the fewest goals forced so far in the campaign – their defense has held up and they are hoping that the same will be the case when they host the Avalanche.
On the other hand, the Avalanche find themselves fourth in the Central Division which is currently being led by the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Avalanche are also coming off a victory as they try to start a win streak and have been at pace with the Red Wings in their last 10 games, with a 5-4-1 record so far.
It should be an intriguing game and one that should be exciting throughout the three periods.
