'Dia Horizon (Hi)' Air Date, Spoilers: Short-Form Anime Adaptation to Feature the Life of a Salaryman
The multimedia project "Dia Horizon," created by Square Enix, is finally hitting the anime scene in October with a series of short CG animated episodes.
The franchise first began as a smartphone game that was released for both Android and iOS devices back in August of this year. An original net animation (ONA) also began streaming on the same month along with 4-panel manga adaptation that was serialized on the official "Dia Horizon" website, which currently consists of 11 installments with a 12th one listed as "coming soon."
Square Enix has also begun serialization of yet another manga adaptation via their online digital publication, "Manga UP!" on Aug. 7. Additionally, a novel series titled "Dia Horizon: Akatsuki no Keiyakusha (Dia Horizon: Dawn's Contractee)" has begun publication online on Kadokawa's Kakuyomu website since July 28. It is being written by Ghost Mikawa.

The narrative of the said franchise revolves around the topics of death, hope and freedom and features a girl born with a secret birthright. It is because of this that she lives without any control over her own life and death. But things will change when she meets a boy who is willing to share half of his fate with her in order to defy what has been preordained by the gods.
The upcoming anime adaptation will reportedly consist of short five-minute episodes that will make use of Flash and CG animation. The anime series will be combining the game world's setting with the story of a modern salaryman's life.
The voice cast will be reprising their roles from the game and will include Seiichiro Yamashita as Rian, Aimi Tanaka as Sophia, Hibiku Yamamura as Ingrid, Yuu Serizawa as Lete, Keiji Fujiwara as Ulf, and Takahiro Sakurai as Victor.
Fanworks is adapting the franchise into anime under the direction of Haruki Kasugamori, who previously worked on "Ketsu-Inu," "Keroro," and "Lunatan: 1-Mannen no Himitsu." Yuki Takabayashi, who previously worked on "Love Rice," is in charge of supervising and writing the scripts.
"Dia Horizon (Hi)" premieres on Monday, Oct. 2, late night at 1 a.m. JST on Tokyo MX.
