'Diablo 3' DLC Expansion Pack Release Date News: Anticipated to Arrive After Blizzard Posts Job Listing

When Blizzard released dungeon crawler Diablo 3 in 2012, they followed it up two years later with an expansion called "Reaper of Souls." It looked like that was all there was for the action role-playing dark fantasy game. But just recently, Blizzard posted a job listing looking for an art director for an "unannounced project" that has something to do with the Diablo franchise. It sparked notion among fans that this might just be the next follow-up to the third installment.

According to the listing posted in Blizzard's website, the studio is looking for an art director that will help them develop their next hit game. They also particularly mentioned that it would be an edge if that someone that has "a passion for games with a deep understanding of the Diablo franchise."

The company has not divulged more details yet on what the next project is going to be — whether it will be an expansion for "Diablo 3" or a completely new game. Looking at the general development time for Diablo, it may be just an expansion, but there are rumors that the company is working on a free-to-play spinoff.

Blizzard has chosen to remain silent for now despite the speculation.

Fans will then just have to wait then until the premier game developer and publisher makes its official announcement regarding it. Blizzard traditionally waits for events like Gamescom and BlizzCon before making any big announcements. BlizzCon 2015 will take place on Nov. 6 and 7.

For the meantime, gamers can well at least check out Blizzard's other new projects as they have a lot on their plate lately. From the newly launched "World of Warcraft" to "Overwatch" to new heroes for "Heroes of the Storm" and new cards for "Hearthstone," the game development giant is clearly busy producing new content for gamers to revel in.
