The franchise is still expected to be present at the November event, but it looks like it will be taking a bit of a backseat to Blizzard's other IPs at least for this year.

Fans have been hoping for a while now for "Diablo 4," but with this recent revelation from the developers, it seems as though they will have to remain patient.

Even though no big announcements concerning the series are expected later this year, there are still some important tweaks and adjustments coming soon to "Diablo 3."

To be more specific, players can expect Patch 2.6.1 to bring some significant changes to the game.

Developers have highlighted some of the new things included in Patch 2.6.1 in an earlier Battle Net post.

Some character skills have been redesigned, while others have been buffed.

Many of the Necromancer's skills are also going to be affected by Patch 2.6.1, which is not that surprising since this is the newest of the character classes.

Numerous items are being strengthened by Patch 2.6.1 as well.

There are also quite a few bug fixes present in the patch.

Some players can already check out Patch 2.6.1 by heading to the Public Test Realm. Once the patch is done with testing, developers are expected to release it for the live version of the game.

More news about "Diablo 3" should be made available soon.
