Dianna Agron 'Not Welcome' on Cory Monteith Tribute Episode?

"Glee" fans will have their chance to say a final farewell to Cory Monteith when the tribute episode airs on Thursday, October 10. Fans will see the cast come together like never before, but at least one major actor will be missing… Dianna Agron, who played Monteith's first girlfriend, Quinn.

Creator Ryan Murphy said that anyone who wanted to be on the show was welcome but failed to explain Agron's absence. In an interview with the Huffington Post, he offered a roundabout way of choosing the cast for the tribute episode, which is bound to be very emotional.

"What I loved about it is, you know when you write something like that, there's no right way to do it, so we wrote it and we put people who were under contract to the show in it, and a lot of the actors contacted me and said, 'I just love him so much – can I please be a part of it?' So we put those people in. Iqbal [Theba] for example, who plays the principal and is now the janitor, was not written into that episode, but personally called up Brad and I and said, 'For him, I want to be in it,'" Murphy explained.

Could it be, then, that Agron simply did not ask, or know to ask, to be in the special episode? There are also rumors that tensions between Agron and the rest of the cast were especially high and she may not have been welcome on the set for Monteith's tribute.

"It's shocking, because even though she's not contracted for this season, many other actors returned to pay tribute to Cory… even ones with less of a story connection to Finn than Diana had! Remember, she played his girlfriend on the series and was a major part of his storyline," a high-level source at "Glee" told Radar Online.

The source added that Lea Michele and Ryan Murphy "intensely dislike Dianna and have both worked to marginalize her as much as possible. They simply did not want her sharing the glory for this very special episode."

The episode, entitled "The Quarterback" will air Thursday, Oct. 10, on Fox.
