'Dies Irae' Episode 3 Spoilers: Ren Fujii's Life Continues to Take Drastic Turns as the Longinus Dreizhen Orden Closes In

The normal life that Ren Fujii has maintained and protected for years has just shattered following the arrival of two new classmates on the Japanese action-fantasy anime series, "Dies Irae." What business does the Longinus Dreizhen Orden have with Ren and his friend, Kasumi Ayase?

Ever since Ren got out of the hospital following a violent falling out with his childhood best friend, Shirou Yusa, he has been having nightmares of himself being beheaded on a guillotine every night. What makes this even more horrific was the fact that the following morning always bore the news of a new beheaded victim in the Suwahara City serial murders.

However, after meeting Father Valeria Trifa, who was one of the group of people that arrived at Suwahara at the end of episode 1, Ren's dream took a sharp turn for the worst. In it, he was accused of beheading a woman in the park and had to subsequently fight to stay alive as a guy who introduced himself as Kazilki Bey of the Longinus Dreizhen Orden's Obsidian Round Table, started attacking him.

He survived this particular dream, but it seemed to have continued to following day when the two strange women who were at the park with him appeared at school and introduced themselves as Rusalka Schwägerin and Kei Sakurai, his new classmates.

Ren's nocturnal nightmares may have ended, but the one that has just collided with his reality has only just begun as teased in the title of the next episode, "The End of the Nightmare Is a Beginning."

Can Ren continue to refuse the huge changes that are about to happen to his once normal life? What part will his upperclassmen, Kasumi and Rea Himuro, who has connections with Father Trifa, play in it?

What significance does the fact that both Ren and Kasumi were not born in Suwahara City have in the events that are about to unfold? Does Shirou's disappearance have anything to do at all with what's been happening to Ren?

"Dies Irae" airs on Mondays late night at 12:30 a.m. JST on BS11, on Fridays late night at 1:05 a.m. JST on Tokyo MX, and on Saturdays 9 p.m. JST on AT-X. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site. Episodes will also be available in selected regions outside Japan via Crunchyroll.
