'Digimon Adventure Tri' Release Date, Plot News: Spring 2015 Will See Anime Heroes Return
The beloved anime heroes and heroines and their digimon (digital monsters) are making a comeback this April 2015. The spring anime season is fast approaching and Toie Animation, the makers of "Digimon Adventure" announced at the end of 2014 that they are bringing back the beloved characters of "Digimon Adventure" and "Digimon Adventure 02" in celebration of the series' 15th anniversary through a new series sequel called "Digimon Adventure Tri."
The new "Digimon" series is set six years after the first adventure in 1999 and three years after the second one. It will feature the same characters and their digimons as teenagers and already in high school. The lead characters like Taichi "Tai" Kamiya and Yamato "Matt" Ishida are already 17 years old. The general plot, according to a Wikipedia entry, is that Tai and his friends who were part of the Chosen Children group will reunite once again and save their digimons and Digital World.
Toie Animation has not released any further plot details. Some plot rumors, according to a report in Kpopstarz, include one about the first episode focusing on Tai and his digimon Agumon. The series' creators through anime magazines have been sharing character visuals to show what they and their digipals will look like after six years. So far, V-Jump has featured visuals of Tai Kamiya and Yamato "Matt" Ishida and their digimons.

The official website of the series also releases story information and details once a day by asking fans to participate in a mini-game. The Kpopstarz report, however, said that fan clicks are currently being blocked by one DemiDevimon, preventing users from getting more information about the series.
Development of the new series was officially announced in August 2014. The series is directed by Kaitaro Motonaga, with character design by Atsuya Uki and scripts by Yuuko Kakihara.
