'Digimon World - Next Order:' New Character, Digimon, Story, and Training Gameplay Details Revealed
Japanese video game publisher Bandai Namco released a slew of updates — including a new character, new Digimon, training gameplay, and story details — for the upcoming game "Digimon World – Next Order."
Luce
Bandai Namco's official website for the game updated its Character page with the addition of Luce. She is described as a mysterious young girl, perhaps in part due to having no recollection of most of her memories. She will be seen always hugging or holding her Digimon, Numemon. Details about how Kouta and Himari, the game's protagonists, will meet Luce have not been revealed.
Gallantmon: Crimson Mode
Gallantmon: Crimson Mode is a Warrior Digimon who will be appearing in the series for the first time. Players can choose Gallantmon as a partner and train the Digimon for battles.
Taomon
Taomon, a pessimistic, quiet, and stubborn Digimon, is an old friend of Jijimon. They parted ways when Taomon grabbed a certain opportunity but appears in this series to intervene when someone tries to twist the truth.
Black Knight Digimon, The Executioner
The Executioner, a Black Knight Digimon, looks like Omegamon Zwart. The Digimon is completely wrapped in mystery and has an "ominous aura."
"Story 02" details
Bandai Namco has released a new description for "Story 02." Here it is, as quoted by Gematsu:
"Although the city's reconstruction was progressing smoothly after meeting Himari and Kouta, a way to counter the threat of Mugendramon is still unknown. In the midst of all that, the heroes head for Taomon, the leading sage of the Digital World, even more so than Jijimon, to learn the truth about what is currently happening to this world…"
New Partner Digimon Training Elements
The Japanese game publisher has also released new details on the elements of the game's Partner Digimon Training.
Bandai Namco revealed "Digimon World — Next Order's" partner training will enable players to take care of two Digimon at the same time. These Digimon can help them in battles, especially since they can combine in a new "'EXE'-Volution."
In addition, the game will also feature the "discipline" element. This important element will come in handy since Digimon will sometimes do whatever they want in battle. On the positive side, players will also be able to praise their Digimon for scoring a victory. Players will be able to know how their partner Digimon is feeling and so can select these commands when needed or as they see fit. This way, the game's level of "realism" has been "significantly improved, notes Gematsu.
"Digimon World — Next Order" will be available to Japanese PlayStation Vita players in 2016.
