'Dishonored 2' News, Update: E3 Trailer Breakdown from Bethesda Reveals New, Exciting Gameplay Details

Bethesda Softworks recently made the headlines this week when it dropped a follow-up video breaking down the cinematic trailer it released for the upcoming sequel of its hit action-adventure stealth RPG, "Dishonored," at the E3 convention earlier this summer.

The video which was shared over at TechnoBuffalo.com features Harvey Smith, the co-creative director from Arkane Studios, running through the major details of the "Dishonored 2" highlight reel.

Smith started off by saying that everything that the character does and have in the trailer, the players can do and get in the game. This includes Emily's crossbow, grenades, as well as the ability to dash off in a location using dark magic.

The transforming palace previewed in the clip will be an actual level in the game, Smith went on to explain. Titled "The Clockwork Mansion," it reveals the evil inventor and disciple of Anton Sokolov.

The clockwork soldiers are also pointed out by Smith. The new enemies are apparently powered by imported whale oil. The fighting robots are revealed to be a staple to the city's aristocrats and friends of the Duke in which they serve as body guards.

Smith went on to divulge that these automatons will have different versions as the game progresses. In fact, a later variant of the minion will sport a "bird-like head" that is so "aggressive" and "scary to fight with."

As further seen in the video and pointed out by Smith, the clockwork soldiers have two faces - one in the front and the other at the back. As it turns out, the face at the back gives the fighting machine a "backward facing view cone" which can heavily thwart the player's stealth ability.

"They are fun enemies to fight, they can do all kind of things in combat," Smith said.

Additionally, gamers will get to discover how Karnaca and Serknos are linked to the Dunwall whale oil industry.

"Dishonored 2" is slated hit the shelves sometime in 2016.
