Disney and Netflix Exclusivity Deal Starts September
Netflix users will soon be in for a treat as many Disney films and series will be released in the streaming service.
The partnership between Disney and Netflix was announced almost five years aho, promising the availability of popular Disney shows such as "House of Mouse." The partnership is also expected to include Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Pixar Animation.
Previously, Ted Sarandos explained that the partnership will be a beneficial endeavor for both parties. He said, "Disney and Netflix have shared a long and mutually beneficial relationship and this deal will bring to our subscribers, in the first pay TV window, some of the highest-quality, most imaginative family films being made today.It's a bold leap forward for Internet television and we are incredibly pleased and proud this iconic family brand is teaming with Netflix to make it happen."

Unfortunately, the deal between the two strong brands did not push through until this year. This is due to the hesitation of Disney to pursue the partnership. The CEO of Disney, Bob Iger, previously said via Value Walk, "Over the long-term, keeping the value of the platform or multichannel platform alive is critical and keeping all episodes of one series in one place on that platform could be a contributing factor."
Nevertheless, fans can expect Disney entertainment to reach homes and devices in the near future. According to Netflix, the streaming provider will soon be the exclusive US pay TV home of the films made under Disney.
However, the deal is not expected to include the recently revive franchise of "Star Wars." With that, there has yet to be any news on the availability of the upcoming "Star Wars" films. Meanwhile, fans will soon enjoy the Disney nature documentaries, as well as the recently released live action films of Disney Classics. These Disney works will only be available on Netflix, which will be a disadvantage for other streaming providers such as Hulu and Amazon Prime.
The Disney and Netflix partnership will begin this September.
