'Doctor Strange' News, Cast, Spoilers: Chiwetel Ejiofor Revealed as Baron Mordo on Latest Set
Marvel's "Doctor Strange" production has already started in Nepal last Wednesday and it seems that it didn't take long for pictures to surface especially when the movie is shooting out and about in the main city. This gave fans a chance to see who else, aside from the officially announced cast, is part of the movie, and it seems that Chiwetel Ejiofor is the latest actor that has been added.
In the pictures released by The Kathmandu Post, it is seen that Ejiofor is dressed in dark robes, walking around the city beside an almost unrecognizable Benedict Cumberbatch. Ejiofor will apparently be playing the role of Baron Mordo. Mordo will serve as the Doctor's guide in his search for the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), who he hopes will bring back the capabilities of his disabled hands. The photo of Ejiofor was taken in Patan Durbar Square, Nepal and tweets from fans in the area also came in after that.
It's no surprise that most are taking the opportunity to get what they can from shooting as the production of the film will be moving to Pinewood Studios' London location in December and by then it will be almost impossible to get any sneak peek as security will be top-notch.
Expectations are high for the 2016 film as many fans have tagged "Doctor Strange" to have the best casting among all other Marvel movies. Aside from Cumberbatch's praised role as Sherlock nd Swinton's applaudible androgynous acting, many were even more thrilled by Rachel McAdams joining as the love interest of the Doctor.
According to Daily Mail, Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios president, had said a few words about Cumberbatch as to why he was initally chosen to take on the role, "Stephen Strange's story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity. In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character."
