'Doctor Strange' News: First Official Trailer Finally Hits the Internet
Marvel has finally released its first trailer for the much-anticipated story that will reveal everything about "Doctor Strange," and so far, the teaser has gained millions of views online.
In the trailer, fans are given a first look at the mind-bending events that will take place in the mystical movie. Tilda Swinton's Ancient One will be training Benedict Cumberbatch's Dr. Steven Strange to become a person who heals through the use of mystical powers.
"There are other ways to save lives," Swinton's character says, giving fans a deeper understanding of how Strange's powers will be acquired and what will possibly drive him to become the prominent Sorcerer Supreme. After seeing the power used by the Ancient One, Strange will tell his master: "Teach me."
The Guardian describes Strange as a formerly successful and wealthy surgeon who will damage his beautiful and saving hands in a tragic car accident. As previously revealed, Strange will lose the use of his hands and he will go around the world searching for the cure that will bring back his nerves' activity.
He will end up in Tibet and will meet the Ancient One. As entailed in the comic books, the Ancient One will introduce Strange to a world unknown to man - a realm of magic, mystical forces, and dangerous enemies.
All throughout the first official clip, Baron Mordo's Chiwetel Ejiofor and his gaze seems to give fans hints about the upcoming evil that Marvel has finally decided to introduce to the big screens. It is unclear how Mordo's story will affect Strange's in the movie but in the comic books, it is told that he was once a student of the Ancient One but later on, he becomes an enemy.
Fans were also given a first look at Rachel McAdams and the popular "Hannibal" star, Mads Mikkelsen, whose name and specific role has not yet been revealed.
In a recent report by The Verge, it is suggested that one of the much-coveted Infinity Stones may be featured in the film as Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige has hinted previously that Strange's Eye of Agamotto has the power to manipulate time.
"Doctor Strange" hits theaters on November 4, 2016.
