BBC America is teaming up with Fathom Events to bring "Doctor Who" season 10 to theaters. While Peter Capaldi's reign as the Twelfth Doctor is already nearing its end, fans of "Doctor Who" don't need to worry as the premiere episode of season 10 will hit the big screen this month.
A press release by Fathom Events and BBC America reveals that the premiere episode of "Doctor Who" season 10 will play in selected movie theaters nationwide for two nights. On Monday, April 17, and Wednesday, April 19, at 7 p.m. local time, the episode will be shown in theaters following BBC America's television premiere on Saturday, April 15, at 9 p.m. EDT.
As a treat, fans can also enjoy the premiere episode of the "Doctor Who" spin-off series, Class, which will feature a guest appearance by the Twelfth Doctor himself, aside from the feature content. This will also come with a never-before-seen bonus feature, "Becoming the Companion," in which fans will have the chance to travel with Pearl Mackie from the London stage through the TARDIS doors. Narrated by Ingrid Oliver, this bonus feature will include exclusive interviews with Capaldi, Mackie and series creator Steven Moffat.
Fans who will witness the "Doctor Who: Season 10 Premiere" cinema event can bring their proof of purchase or ticket stub to Hot Topic retail locations to purchase "Doctor Who" merchandise items at 25 percent off. The sale started on March 10 and will continue until May 6.
Meanwhile, fans who purchase tickets through Atom Tickets will also get to receive three "Doctor Who" digital comic books from Titan Comics and ComiXology. They can buy tickets online or at participating theaters nationwide.
"Doctor Who" season 10 will follow Capaldi as he embarks on his final series as the Twelfth Doctor. The season will also introduce Mackie as the new companion, Bill Potts, and see the return of Matt Lucas as Nardole, the alien companion.
