'Doctor Who' season 9 plot news: Details of all episodes revealed
Details of all 12 episodes of the upcoming season of "Doctor Who" were recently revealed.
The season is expected to start off with a two-part story including the premiere episode titled "The Magician's Apprentice," as well as the second episode titled "The Witch's Familiar." The description for the start of the season reads, "Where is the Doctor? When the skies of Earth are frozen by a mysterious alien force, Clara needs her friend. But where is the Doctor, and what is he hiding from? As past deeds come back to haunt him, old enemies will come face-to-face, and for the Doctor and Clara survival seems impossible."
The third episode is titled "Under The Lake," while the fourth season is titled "Before The Flood." The story that the two episodes will be focused on was written by Toby Whithouse. It will include guest stars Paul Kaye, Morven Christie, Arsher Ali, Colin McFarlane, Sophie Stone, Zaqi Ismail, Steven Robertson, and Neil Fingleton under the direction of Daniel O'Hara.
Episode 5 is titled "The Girl Who Died," which will feature "Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams. She recently expressed her enthusiasm on her upcoming role. She said, "I'm so excited to be working on Doctor Who as it's such a big and important part of British culture."
In contrast to episode 5, the sixth episode will be titled "The Woman Who Live." It was written by Catherine Treganna and is expected to have Rufus Hound as a guest star. He will be taking on the role of Sam Swift.
As for the rest of the season, it was reported that episode 7 will be titled "The Zygon Invasion" and episode 8 will be titled "The Zygon Inversion." Episode 9 will be called "Sleep No More." Episode 10 will be titled "Face The Raven." As for the finale story, episode 11 will be titled "Heaven Sent," while episode 12 will be titled "Hell Bent."
Doctor Who season 9 is expected to begin this Sept. 19.
