Donald Trump slams Ben Carson, as co-Republican rises to top 2 spot

Days from the GOP debate, Donald Trump, whose efforts in taking the top spot in the Republican presidential race continues to spread worries among members of his party, has decided to turn his back on his closest rival.

Ben Carson, though running an unconventional campaign, has slowly made his way into the ranks, and in an unexpected turn of events, polls reveal that he is now in number 2.

The billionaire said on Sunday that Ben Carson, a retired neurosurgeon who actually has no track records of elected office, is "a very, very nice man," then turned the tables when he referred to Carson's presidency as one that will not be good for the people since "He's not a dealmaker. He's not a negotiator. The president has to bring wealth back into our country — Ben can't do that."

Trump's statements are only part of what has become a historical Republican primary season. According to The Guardian, two Republican candidates have already slammed Trump, making it clear that they won't support the businessman if he wins the party nomination next year.

Former governor of New York state took to Twitter and said he wouldn't vote for Trump, referring to the mogul as "unfit to be president."

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, whose name in the polls has dropped significantly, also said he refuses to endorse Trump, calling him a "narcissist" and "egomaniac."

Reports suggest that the biggest blow on the Republican party, while Trump continues to flaunt his success, is the departure of Rick Perry, former Texas governor, on Friday.

Meanwhile, chairman of the Republican National Committee, Reince Preibus, reminded his pack that "loose talk" in the primary processes of the battle can actually cost a number of votes come election day.

Preibus said, "Each candidate is going to be responsible for their own words and their own mouth, so they should proceed with caution."

Some experts deem that Trump's attacks against Carson have been fueled by a recent CBS poll that reveals Carson is just trailing close behind Trump in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.
