'Dota 2: Haunted Colosseum' Features New Custom Game With 5-on-5 Battle
"Dota 2" gamers are in for a treat as developer Valve has created "Haunted Colosseum" just in time for Halloween.
As announced in the official blog site of the game, the update is a "spooky, pumpkin-filled Custom Game" that will bring to players a 5-on-5 battle for territorial control. Along with it will be Capture points, devilish traps and warrior behemoths that they will encounter as they go along through their game.
According to Twinfinite, the new mode will involve two teams composed of five players each. Each team will work together to successfully fight for the five control nodes that are found all over the new creepy Haunted Colosseum map. Once a team is able to control three of the five nodes, they will get score points. The first team that will reach a score of 5,000 points is declared the winner.
It's going to be a tricky round though as each team will need to look out for the deadly traps that are scattered in the new map. There will be pendulums, spike traps, and a lot more that will cause devastation to the unsuspecting heroes.
They will also need to be watchful with the score because once a team reaches 1,000 points, they will receive their own behemoth that comes with a jack-o-lantern styled head, magic immunity and true sight that will let them see their opponent trying to run away.
Valve also made an overhaul with the Custom Games overview page for the purpose of giving it a new look and enticing others to check out great Custom Games. It is also meant to usher people into lobbies and letting them play as quickly as possible.
They removed the "Suggested Games" list and replaced it with an "Open Lobby" list. They also added a new panel which puts emphasis on an "automatically-chosen Game of the Day." Aside from that, the update will bring the second Tribute treasure for Fall Compendium owners: the Tribute of the Sharpened Feather. Additional changes and improvements have been made with it as well.
