'Downton Abbey Season 6' Finale Spoilers: Filled with Good-Byes and New Love Stories
"Downton Abbey" season 6's finale episode will be a real tearjerker as characters are bound to bid each other good-bye and new love stories will be formed.
Based on the promotional video for "Downton Abbey" season 6, fans will most likely shed a lot of tears over the finale episode. The plot will revolve around New Year' Eve in which the characters will begin accepting that the world they live in is no longer the same, according to Realty Today (RT).
"The world is a different place from the way it was, my lord. And Downton Abbey must change with it," RT quotes Mr. Carson's (Jim Carter) statement to Robert (Hugh Bonneville).
The previous season's finale had also caused fans to shed a lot of tears after they bade the Crawley family and staff good-bye. The background song "Auld Lang Syne" did not help dampen the emotions of the watchers, Youth Health Mag reports.
Rose (Lily James) will be among the characters who will return to season 6 for one final good-bye. This revelation has caused a wave of sadness to wash over "Downton Abbey" fans, the report details.
The teaser trailer also shows Mr. Mason toasting in the servants' quarters and this hints at an affair with Mrs. Patmore (Lesley Nicol). However, fans will have to see if their relationship will last or not, the report adds.
Meanwhile, Isobel (Penelope Wilton) is shown smiling coyly at Lord Merton (Douglas Reith). The scene has sparked speculations that she has agreed to wed him. Other relationships that might bloom include those between Allen and Laura, the report relays.
"Downton Abbey" season 6 finale will air on Dec. 25 on ITV in the United Kingdom. The U.S. audience, on the other hand, will not see the beginning of the final season until Jan. 3, 2016 and the Christmas special will be shown in March 2016 on PBS.
