'Dragon Age: Inquisition's' Free Dragonslayer DLC Launched (VIDEO)

The "Dragon Age: Inquisition" second DLC pack, "Dragonslayer," was launched for free Tuesday following its May 1 announcement.

Electronic Arts and BioWare launched "Dragonslayer" May 5, representing their latest downloadable content following last week's announcement of the second DLC for the action role-playing game, "Dragon Age: Inquisition."

The "Dragonslayer" DLC was released together with "The Black Emporium," a free in-game shopping destination making the game's shop available to players, while introducing the "Mirror of Transformation," which allows gamers to change their appearances mid-game.

The two new DLCs also contained extensive patches to fix a number of bugs and other technical issues, as well as improve the game's overall stability.

The free "Dragonslayer" download gives players a new Ferelden Castle multiplayer destination map, and three new playable characters, some of whom have appeared in previous game installments in the series: Isabela the Duelist, Skywatcher the Avvar, and Zither the Virtuoso.

Before each match, players of the game will be given the option to select one of three elemental dragons to do battle with by interacting with the Dragon Call gong corresponding to the dragon they wish to fight. The dragons each have their own abilities and game environment impact.

Players also get a free chest via the game's Multiplayer Store with one of the three new characters, as well as an option to unlock the other characters during rare drops, or when they build their respective armors within the Armor Crafting screen.

Bioware has also posted a new gameplay trailer for "Dragonslayer," giving fans a look at what they can expect from the new DLC made compatible for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.

"Dragon Age: Inquisition" received critical acclaim when it was launched in November 2014, received several awards from gaming publications, and was nominated for Game of the Year and other role-playing accolades last year.
