'Dragon Ball FighterZ' News: Devs Further Detail Frieza, One of the Upcoming Game's Long Range Specialists
Frieza possesses a special move that can only be dodged and not blocked in the game
Frieza may have long ago lost the title of "Goku's mightiest foe" to other notable antagonists, but the former emperor of the universe is still a force that should not be ignored. In "Dragon Ball FighterZ," fans will quickly see that Frieza is still a highly capable warrior who can devastate foes instantaneously.
The new fighting game has designated Frieza as a "long range shooter," according to a recent tweet from Bandai Namco US. He is a technique-based character with plenty of energy to spare, meaning opponents would be best served to close the distance on him or else risk succumbing to his avalanche of attacks.
Frieza really does have numerous ranged attacks to choose from.
Developers revealed some of Frieza's special moves in a separate Bandai Namco US tweet.
One of his more memorable moves is known as the "Death Saucer." Long-time fans of the "Dragon Ball" series may already have an idea of what this attack is like, and it looks as though the developers have taken care to make sure that it is still very deadly inside "Dragon Ball FighterZ."
Also serving to make the "Death Saucer" move one that will be incredibly difficult for opposing players to deal with is that it can only be dodged. While many of the ranged attacks in the game can be blocked, the "Death Saucer" offers no such reprieve.
Frieza does not even need to draw from his specific arsenal of attacks to hurt his opponents from range as he can just throw big rocks around and get the job done as well.
For fighting game fans that prefer to do their work from a distance, there may be no better character for them to master than Frieza himself.
"Dragon Ball FighterZ" is expected to be released for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime in February.
